ROTEIROS DE CHARME | 13 In September 2024, Roteiros de Charme participated as a guest and speaker at the “One Planet Network Forum” held in Rio de Janeiro, which brought together global leaders to discuss innovative strategies and solutions in tourism. The discussions addressed critical topics such as renewable energy and the circular economy, as well as the adaptations and transformations needed in the tourism sector to achieve greater sustainability and resilience. Our participation in the “One Planet Network Forum” was even more meaningful, as Roteiros de Charme became a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration, an initiative of the United Nations, UN Tourism, based in Madrid, which seeks to accelerate tourism’s role in combating the climate crisis. The Glasgow Declaration emphasizes the urgency of making firm commitments to support global targets: cutting emissions by half over the next decade and achieving net zero as soon as possible, always before 2050. As a signatory, Roteiros de Charme has also committed to developing a climate action plan aligned with the five key areas Deck with a view of Serra do Faxinal at Morada dos Canyons, in Praia Grande, Santa Catarina @pilotluana Roteiros de Charme in the Fight Against the Climate Crisis identified in the Glasgow Declaration: measurement, decarbonization, regeneration, collaboration, and financing, to accelerate and coordinate climate action in tourism. Equally highlighted in its action plan is the commitment to work with a spirit of collaboration, sharing best practices and solutions among its members, disseminating information to encourage the creation of multipliers to achieve set goals, and promoting broad adherence to the principles of the Glasgow Declaration. Roteiros de Charme’s involvement in this global forum reflects its ongoing dedication of over three decades to integrating sustainable practices across all its operations, promoting transformative tourism that respects the environment and local communities.
