HIGH5

PROTEIN HIT

£23.85 (pack of 15)

www.highfive.co.uk

There’s a current trend for more natural sports nutrition products, and these dried fruit and nut

concoctions from High5 are a move in that direction. A mix of peanuts, dates, sunflower seeds,

sultanas and cranberries has been cold-pressed together with whey protein, three different sources of

cacao and natural orange flavouring to create a delicious snack, which works either before a training

session for energy or after for recovery. They’re rather moreish, so beware that each one contains a

substantial 224 calories. As well as 11g of whey protein, you get 18g of carbs (mostly from the dried

fruit), and 11.5g of largely unsaturated fat from the nuts and

seeds. Despite the name, there’s acually less protein (11g) than

in most traditional recovery bars (approx. 20g). The Protein Hit

is gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians, but vegans and

those with a nut allergy need to look elsewhere.
